Spreading the word on preventing injuries to babies and young children.
In partnership with CHEO, the County of Renfrew Child Care Services is offering injury prevention training for professionals and parents of young children across the County of Renfrew. In Canada, injuries kill more children than all other diseases combined. At CHEO, 1 out of every 5 children who visit the emergency department has come in because they’ve been injured. Parents want to keep their children safe, but some believe “accidents” are part of life. Sadly, it is when we look back on how the injury happened that we see how the injury might have been prevented. Everyone has a role to play in keeping children safe.
Please see links below to find information on how to prevent some of the common injuries that occur with children 0-6 years of age and safety practices families should follow.
