Inclusion Services

The Inclusion Services team strives to promote quality, inclusive care for children. Specifically, the Inclusion Coordinators:

  1. Support children with identified needs within Licensed Child Care and approved Recreation Programs, and
  2. Provide ongoing Professional Development and support for programs and staff.

Inclusion Services offers support to Licensed Child Care agencies and approved Recreation programs in Renfrew County when a referral has been made regarding concern for a child in one or more developmental areas (eg. physical, social, emotional, cognitive, etc.).

A referral can be made to Inclusion Services by completing a Referral and Intake Package (see link below). Referrals can be made by: a parent/guardian, a Licensed Child Care Centre/approved Recreation program, or an outside agency involved with the child. All referrals require parent consent.

The Looksee Checklist

Are you interested in learning more about your child’s development?

The Looksee Checklist is a simple, easy-to-use developmental tool designed to help monitor a child’s development from 1 month to 6 years of age, featuring a short list of “yes” or “no” questions about the child’s abilities.

With the vision of helping all children reach their developmental potential, the Looksee Checklist (formerly the ndds checklist) was created in 1993 by ndds, a non-profit organization made up of early childhood specialists. In the 25 years since, it has been translated into over 10 languages and has helped thousands of children worldwide through initiatives with organizations like the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and World Vision.
